The i-site collection consists of books, reference materials, subscriptions to online services, journals and newspapers. The i-site also houses DVDs for the Media Department.
Reading around your subject by using the collection, especially the journals is the only way in some subjects that you will obtain the highest grades. Any General Studies students should make it a must to read a quality daily paper available in the i-site. Reading around the subject should be seen as preparation for any studies taken on to Higher Education level.

Students should begin to develop their independent learning skills by using the i-site. Guidance is given on referencing correctly to avoid plagiarism. The i-site should become your first port of call for any of your research. The i-site staff will endeavour to support you in your studies and are here to help. We can help with research and have been called upon by teaching colleagues to assist in providing links to relevant websites.
The i-site is not a social area and should be viewed as a place of work for students and staff. With this in mind students are required to:
• work / read quietly so as not to disturb other students.
• use the computers for school work only.
• not to bring food or drink onto the i-site.
• respect other users at all times. |
