Ashton on Mersey is delighted to report that Sixth Form students have achieved examination results which reflect the determination and perseverance that they have shown throughout the past two years. Students have been awarded a set of grades across all subject areas that are simply excellent and cement the Sixth Form’s reputation as being an outstanding provider.
Students and parents should be delighted that the process of awarding teacher assessed grades was accurate and robust. Judgements and estimates of teachers have been validated and students have been rewarded for all of their hard work.
Headlines include the fact that 88% of students achieved 3 Distinctions (D/D/D) or above whilst over a third of students achieved the highest possible grades of 3 Distinction* (D*/D*/D*). There were many individual success stories across our BTEC Level 3 courses in IT, Construction, Sport, Business Studies and Psychology with every pupil achieving at least a Merit or above inclusive of all subjects,
Headteacher Lee McConaghie said: “Despite the challenges of the past year, these students have secured a set of results that they are rightly proud of. These outcomes will ensure that all of our students have the greatest possible chance of securing their chosen next steps including University and Higher Apprenticeships.”
